Reflective memory is a specialized shared memory architecture used in distributed real-time systems where multiple processors or nodes must share data with deterministic, low-latency communication. VMIC's VMIVME-5550 Multidrop Reflective Memory with Interrupts is one of the most widely used reflective memory solutions in VMEbus-based real-time systems — deployed across power plant simulators, flight simulators, industrial process control, and real-time test systems.

The reflective memory architecture allows any write to the local memory of one node to be simultaneously and automatically replicated to the corresponding memory location of all other nodes on the network — without processor intervention.
